The Canadian Dividend Achievers™ Index is comprised of companies incorporated in Canada, trade on a major Canadian exchange, and have increased its annual regular dividend payments for the last five or more consecutive years. The Index is calculated using a market capitalization weighting methodology.
Constituents must be incorporated in Canada, trade on a major exchange in Canada and must have paid increasing regular cash dividends for five or more consecutive years. The average daily cash volume must exceed CD$500k in CAD$ in the November and December prior to reconstitution. The Index is reconstituted annually after the close of business on the last trading day in January, and is rebalanced quarterly on the last trading date in April, July and October based on market caps on the last trading date in March, June and September, respectively. The Index is market cap weighted and is calculated in Canadian dollars for both price appreciation and total return.
